Commack FD dispatched to a report of a house fire at 42 Deepdale Drive. Alarm reported at 1330 hours. Units arrive to find heavy fire within the house. Crews are advised that an elderly male, identified by news articles as Louis Donolli was trapped on the upper level of the house.
It was reported that Timothy Donolli, 48 was upstairs with his father when they smelled smoke. Timothy discovered a fire on the ground level and attempted to extinguish same, with no success. Timothy then tried to get back upstairs to remove his father from the building, but was driven back by smoke and fire. Michael Manger, 49, was working nearby, when he noticed the fire. Magner entered the home and removed Timothy. FD personnel made numerous efforts to locate and remove Louis Donolli, but due to the extent of the fire and partial collapse of the building upon arrival, they were unsuccessful. The victim was pronounced at the scene. Commack FD was assisted at the scene by the Brentwood FD, East Northport FD and the Dix Hills FD.
