Selden FD-Fatal house fire on Magnolia Drive

February 17, 2022 1820 hours The Selden Fire Department is called to respond to a reported house on fire at 357 Magnolia Drive. Units arrive to find heavy fire throughout a two story private dwelling. Selden battled the fire with assistance from the Farmingville FD, Ronkonkoma FD, Coram FD and the Centereach Fire Department. After the fire was extinguished, Earl Rahman, 81, a resident of the home, was found dead. Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad and Arson Section detectives are investigating along with the Town of Brookhaven Fire Marshals Office.a fire that killed a Selden man this evening. A preliminary investigation has determined the cause of the fire to be non-criminal in nature. There were no other injuries.
