March 15, 2004 300 Oser Avenue. Alarm reported at 0548 hours by an occupant of the building as a machine on fire. Hauppauge units arrive and confirm that there is an active fire in the front manufacturing area of the building. Mutual aid is requested from Commack (FAST), East Brentwood (engine to the scene) and Central Islip (ladder to the scene) FD’s. The fire was quickly extinguished and crews vented the building. Fire was confined to a machine used to keep a vat of lip balm warm and in a liquid state. There were no injuries. Assistant Chief Ray Woods was the OIC. All FD units cleared from the scene by 0705 hours.
