March 27, 2021 1431 hours. The Nesconset, St. James, Lakeland, Ronkonkoma, Centereach, Hauppauge and Smithtown Fire Departments respond to a report of a house fire at 199 Browns Road in the Nesconset Fire District. Arriving units encounter a fire in a single story private dwelling. The fire was knocked down within 30 minutes and placed under control within an hour. There were no reported injuries. Smithtown Fire Marshals are investigating. Unit rundown: Centereach FD for RIT, Ronkonkoma FD for one engine, St. James FD for one engine, Lakeland FD for an engine and Rescue truck, Smithtown FD for one engine, and Hauppauge FD for one engine.
