February 14, 2019 0732 hours. The Lakeland Fire Department responds to a house fire at 36 Arbutus Court. Units arrive to find an active fire on an attached porch with extension into the structure. One line is stretched off engine 3-13-4 and the fire is quickly extinguished. Mutual aid was requested from Central Islip FD for an engine, Hauppauge FD for a ladder and Bohemia FD for a RIT. There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is being investigated by the Suffolk County Police Department Arson Squad and Fire Marshals from the Town of Islip.
