March 8, 2021 1830 hours. The Brentwood Fire Department was dispatched to an explosion with injuries at the Paraco Gas facility at190 Corbin Avenue. Crews arrived to find that an explosion had occurred, resulting in extensive damage on one of the buildings. Two employees had been refilling propane tanks when the explosion occurred. Both employees suffered serious injuries and were transported by Brentwood Legion Ambulance to Stony Brook Hospital. Firefighters from Bay Shore, Brentwood, North Babylon, Deer Park, and West Islip responded as well as the Town of Islip Hazmat Team and Town of Islip Fire Marshal.remained on scene for hours burning-off gas from tanks that were involved.
