Hauppauge FD/CIHVAC-Crash with heavy pin ties up Veterans Highway

February 3, 2019 2029 hours. The Hauppauge Fire Department, Central Islip-Hauppauge Ambulance and Suffolk Police respond to a. traffic collision on Veterans Highway near the entrance to the NYS Office building, Units arrived to find a crash involving at least five vehicles in the eastbound and westbound lanes. The driver of one vehicle was heavily pinned. Crews worked for approximately thirty minutes to extricate the driver. All victims were transported by ambulance to various hospitals.  The roadway was reopened at 2145 hours.
