February 11, 2022 1100 hours. The West Islip Fire Department is dispatched to a report of a kitchen fire at 27 Sylvia Drive North. Units arrive to find heavy smoke pushing from the rear of a single story private dwelling. Units stretched in and requested mutual aid from the Bayshore Fire Department for an engine and Babylon Fire Department for an engine. North Babylon Fire Company for a RIT. North Babylon FC was diverted to check another report of a house fire at 20 Sylvia Drive. North Babylon Firefighters found an active dryer fire, which was quickly extinguished. The initial fire at #27 was knocked down within 25 minutes. In addition, West Islip received reports of house fires at 16, 19, 20 and 28 Sylvia. All were experiencing electrical issues. Deer Park was added to the response to assist. All of the incidents were placed under control by 1215 hours. PSEG was requested on a rush to investigate. There were no injuries.
