Hauppauge FD-MVA with overturn on the LIE

December 29, 2019 0055 hours. The Hauppauge Fire Department responds with Central Islip Hauppauge Ambulance to a traffic collision on the LIE. Units arrive to find an overturned passenger vehicle on the eastbound side between exits 55-56 that may have been involved in a crash with another vehicle that fled the area. The three occupants had self extricated. One victim sustained a serious head injury. All were transported. Suffolk Police closed the eastbound LIE from 55 to 56 until just prior to 0330 hours for their investigation and to clear the vehicle from the roadway.
