Northport FD-Structure fire on Main Street

December 22, 2021 0727 hours Northport Fire Department received a call for a structure fire at 145 Main Street in the Village. Chief of Department Sheridan was first on scene along with units from the Northport PD. He immediately had dispatch transmit a working structure fire. The structure was fully involved with fire and extending to nearby buildings. The occupants had self evacuated and were taken to fire headquarters for shelter and further evaluation. Second Assistant. Chief Smalling managed hose line operations along with Captain Sheridan and Lieutenant Forester. Mutual aid was received from East Northport FD, Centerport FD, Eaton’s Neck FD, Greenlawn FD and Kings Park FD. The Suffolk County Police Department Arson Squad, Northport PD and Village Fire Marshal are investigating the cause of the blaze. All FD units cleared from the scene at 0900 hours.
