Smithtown FD-Fire on Main Street

March 22, 1947. Alarm was originally reported as a “White House”. As such, the FD responds to the T.J. White House in head of the River. Units find no fire but are then advised by the Smithtown Police that the fire is at the Old Judge Smith house was burning on East Main Street. The fire building is painted white, thus the confusion. 3-21-1947 Smithtown News
