St. James FD-House fire in Nissequogue

March 1, 1935 The ST, James fire company answered an alarm about 9:45 AM on Friday morning. A brooder house on the Zabriskie Estate in Nissequogue was on fire. The chickens were a total loss and the brooder was destroyed, but the barn was saved by the quick action of the firemen. Note: St. James handled this fire as there was no Nissequogue Fire Department.
