February 10, 1969 Fire in a two story house. Fully involved upon the arrival of the FD. House owned by Kings Park businessman Clifford Carlson. He and his family escaped unharmed. This was a wind fanned fire. The fire was discovered at approximately 0400 hours. Smithtown sent two engines to the scene. Chief of Department Dennis Hogan was the OIC. Snow wind and a lack of hydrants hampered efforts. Photos in the 2-13-1969 Issue of the Smithtown News.
