February 7, 1989 Fire reported at 1415 hours. Windsor Village Apartments is located on Devonshire Road off Veterans Highway. Mutual aid to the scene from Central Islip, Nesconset, Smithtown and Commack. St. James and Lakeland covered at Hauppauge FD. Fire destroyed 8 of the 16 apartents in the building. No tenants were injured but 10 firefighters were transported to Community Hospital of Western Suffolk (aka CHOWS, which was previously Smithtown General Hospital).
