East Brentwood FD-house fire on Prospect Avenue

January 26, 2020 1145 hours. East Brentwood is dispatched to a house fire at 49 Prospect Avenue off Fulton Street. An additional report indicated that threre could be occupants trapped in the basement. Units arrive to find fire venting from the one two corner. Mutual aid was requested from Hauppauge for a RIT, Brentwood for a ladder, Central Islip FD for an engine. Two lines were stretched and operated. The fire placed under control at 1213 hours. Two firefighters were treated at the scene. One for exhaustion and the other for an eye injury. The Islip Terrace Fire Department sent an engine to cover and CI Hauppauge, Brentwood Leigon and Islip Exchange provided medical support. Islip Town Fire Marshals and Suffolk Arson Detectives are handling the investigation.
