Deer Park FD Commercial structure fire on Elm Street

March 11, 2021 0603 hours

Deer Park FD is dispatched to a report of a structure fire at 19 Elm Street. Arriving units encountered fire in a 40 yard roll off container up against a commercial building. The fire had already extended into the loading dock area and into the building and was being held in check by the sprinkler system. Engine 147 laid in and immediately deployed their deck gun to knockdown the dumpster fire while members stretched a hose line into the building to extinguish the fire within. Roof operations were performed by Tower Ladder 1410 assisted by North Babylon Fire Co. Tower Ladder 188. West Islip responded as RIT. Wyandanch Fire Co. sent an engine to cover. Deer Park handled the incident with 2 Chiefs, Engines 147 & 11, Tower Ladder 1410, 1 Ambulance, Fire Police and Rehab unit.
