Deer Park-house fire on West 8th Street

September 22, 2021 – 205 West 8th Street. Time unknown. The Deer Park Fire Department was activated for a residential structure fire at 205 West 8th Street. Upon arrival of the first assistant chief, he was advised by the occupants that there were multiple animals still within the house. The chief advised Babylon Central of a working fire and then entered the house to search for the animals. The chief was able to locate and remove two pets before the first line was stretched. The first due engine quickly extinguished the fire in the basement while crews searched for, located and removed two additional animals. All of the animals were transported to a local animal hospital by officers from the Suffolk County Police Department. The department responded with 1 Chief, 2 engines, 1 ladder, 2 ambulances, 2 fire police units and the rehab unit.
