West Babylon FD-House fire on North Putnam Avenue

Just before 5pm on the evening of November 22nd, 2021, the West Babylon Fire Department was activated for a reported structure fire at 930 North Putnam Avenue. Initial reports from the residents of the home indicated a smoke condition, and Chief of Department Robert Sullo confirmed smoke showing from an occupied multiple dwelling upon his arrival. Ladder Tower 1-9-4 was the first unit to respond, followed by Engine 1-9-3.  Engine 1-9-6 was the first on scene. The crews quickly extinguished a small bedroom fire on the first floor of the home. The home was vented, and the scene was turned over to the Town of Babylon Fire Marshal’s Office for an investigation.  

Responding units included engines 1-9-2, 1-9-3, 1-9-6, and 1-9-8, Ladder 1-9-4 and Heavy Rescue 1-9-15, Chiefs 1-9-30, 1-9-32, and 1-9-33, and numerous other support and EMS units.
