December 30, 2021 – The Deer Park Fire Department was activated for a residential structure fire at 61 Crown Street. The departments daytime procedure was initiated which includes North Babylon Fire Company for an engine to the scene. Deer Parks 33 arrived and advised Babylon Central Fire Alarm that he had a working fire in a 2 story private dwelling. The first due engine (1-4-11) was on scene within minutes and picked up a fire hydrant securing a water source. The fire was located on the second floor of the structure when engine 1-4-11 arrived on scene. A total of two inch and three quarter hand lines were stretched, while tower ladder 1-4-10 completed searches and vented the structure. The fire was contained to the second floor of the structure. Deer Park FD operated with a chief and engine a truck two ambulances, fire police units, and the rehab unit. The fire scene was turned over to the Town of Babylon Fire Marshals office for the investigation.
