January 10, 2022 Fred E Meuser, former Chief of Commack Fire Department, passed away today at the age of 91 “Chief Mouse” as he was loving referred to, served for over 30 years and was Chief of Department from 1981-1983. Meuser is the beloved husband of Ethel. Cherished father of Rick (Cathy) and David. Adored grandfather of Caitlin Laterza and Christi Curcio. Loving brother of Robert and Kenneth. Fond uncle of 2 nieces and 1 nephew, and a great-uncle of 4. Reposing was Thursday January 13th, 6-8pm and Friday January 14th, 2-4pm, and 6-8pm, at Commack Abbey-96 Commack Road in Commack. Firematic Service was Thursday at 7:30pm. The funeral service was Saturday January 15 at 11am. Interment is at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale. Thank you for your service Chief and Rest In Peace. Chief Meuser is seated in the photo below, which was taken on his 86th birthday on December 30, 2017, when some of the members of Commack FD brought him lunch and celebrated with him at the Huntington Hills Center for Rehabilitation.
