April 25, 2021. 0155 hours. The North Amityville Fire Company responds to 7 Simmons Street in Copiague in regard to a report of a house fire. Units arrive to find the single story vacant house fully involved and partially collapsed. Members used master streams to extinguish the blaze which leveled the house. The fire extended to a trailer that the family had been living in since being displaced by a fire here in June of 2020. A female escaped from the trailer through a rear door. The fire was placed under control within 90 minutes. North Amityville Fire Company was assisted at the scene by the Amityville, Copiague, West Babylon, Lindenhurst and North Lindenhurst FD’s as well as along with Wyandanch-Wheatley Heights Ambulance, Suffolk Arson Detectives and Babylon Town Fire Marshals are investigating.
