November 12, 2019 EMT Steve Zacharevitz was presented with a Suffolk County Prehospital Save Award at the monthly Suffolk REMSCO meeting. Steve responded to a reported drowning in July of 2019. As the first provider on scene, he confirmed the patient was in full cardiac arrest and began basic life support techniques in an attempt to revive the patient. With Steve’s efforts, the patient regained a pulse and consciousness by the time the ambulance arrived in scene and was transported to a local hospital. CI-Hauppauge Ambulance photo.
