Greenlawn FD house fire on Jamaica Avenue

October 28, 2021 1820 The Greenlawn Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a residential structure fire on Jamaica Avenue. First arriving 3rd Assistant Chief Jones reported heavy fire showing and transmitted a working fire. Crews made an aggressive interior attack, making quick work of the fire. Greenlawn was assisted at the scene by the Huntington Manor, East Northport and Centerport Fire Departments as well as Commack Ambulance. The Huntington Fire Department and Commack Ambulance sent units to cover for the duration of the incident. There were no injuries but a family pet perished in the fire.
