Stony Brook FD-house fire on Manchester Lane

December 8, 2019 0354 hours. The Stony Brook and Setauket Fire Departments were dispatched to a report of a house on fire at 94 Manchester Lane in Stony Brook. Units arrived to find a active fire in a two story private dwelling. Crews searched the house and then forced entry into a single car attached garage where they located the seat of the fire. The fire was quickly extinguished, the garage and house were vented and the fire area was overhauled. The scene was preserved and a request was made for the Brookhaven Town Fire Marshals Office. According to the Stony Brook Fire Department, the Fire Marshal determined that this fire was a result of a carelessly discarded cigarette.
