Smithtown FD-Unusual rescue on Plaisted Avenue

December 9, 2019 1445 hours. While operating at an automatic fire alarm on East Main Street, the the Smithtown Fire Department is dispatched to the Mt. Pleasant Elementary School in regard to a child with their finger caught in a clip board. EMS units arrived within minutes and requested a response from Heavy Rescue unit 4-2-9. FD personnel were able to cut away the clipboard rather quickly. Units cleared from the scene within 20 minutes.
