January 22 at 2205. Huntington Manor firefighters responded to 12 Ogden Court for a reported basement fire. 1st Assistant Chief James Glidden advised he had a heavy smoke condition from the home and transmitted a working fire. Crews stretched two inch and three quarter handlines and despite heavy clutter conditions, were able to contain the fire to the basement. Two firefighters suffered minor injuries. One was transported to Huntington Hospital by Huntington Community First Aid Squad for treatment and the second was treated on scene also by members of H.C.F.A.S. Mutual aid was received from the Huntington, Melville and Greenlawn Fire Departments and Huntington Community First Aid Squad. Chief of Department Chuck Brady was incident commander.
