November 4th, 2021 0015, theMelville Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire at 302 Wolf Hill Rd. 2nd Assistant Chief Bernfeld [2-5-32] was quickly on scene with smoke from an attached garage and reactivated the alarm as a working fire. Engine 2-5-6 was first due and stretched the initial line through the house to begin extinguishing the large volume of fire in the garage which extended through the roof and caused a partial collapse of the garage.
With the assistance of crews from the Dix Hills, Huntington Manor, Plainview Fire Departments and the Wyandanch Fire Company, at least 3 lines were stretched to extinguish the main body of fire which was contained to the garage. The fire was placed under control in approximately 45 minutes under the direction of Chief of Department Kaplan [2-5-30]. The last units cleared from the scene at 0244 hours. There were no injuries.
