January 6, 2020 2052 hours, the Smithtown Fire Department is activated for a Truck Fire on Cygnet Drive in Smithtown. Crews arrive to find a GMC truck full of mulch with smoke showing. Units 4-2-1, 4-2-5, 4-2-15, 4-2-9, and Chiefs 4-2-30, 4-2-32, and 4-2-33 quickly applied water to the mulch to cool it down and eliminate any fire. Units operated on scene for 22 minutes under the command of Chief Fitzpatrick.
