August 18, 2018 1845 hours. The Kings Park Fire Department responds to Sunken Meadow State Park in regards to a report of a subject struck by lightning at Field 3 of Sunken Meadow State Park. When FD personnel arrived, Park Police and staff were performing CPR on a 32 year old male. FD personnel took over treatment and transported the victim to the hospital. The victim did not survive.
