Nesconset FD-Bicyclist seriously injured on Smithtown Blvd

August 24, 2018 1143 hours. Shortly after the Kings Park Fire Department took up from their traffic collision on Pulaski Road, the Nesconset Fire Department was dispatched to a traffic collision on Smithtown Blvd near Southern Blvd. Units arrived to find that a 16 year old male on a bicycle had collided with an SUV. The youth suffered a serious head injury and was quickly stabilized and transported by Nesconset FD to Stony Brook Hospital. The driver of the SUV was not injured. Smithtown Boulevard was shut down until after 3PM while police conducted their investigation.
