February 3, 1987 A 16 year old Hauppauge youth was charged on February 4, 1987 with setting a fire that caused the evacuation of the High School today. A school official was injured in the fire.
Jason Brown, 16 of Autumn Court, was charged with arson in the blaze, which was discovered at 1015 AM, when a school admisistrator saw heavy smoke coming out of the ground level boys bathroom.
Hauppauge FD quickly extinguished the fire and CI Ambulance transported the assistant Princial to the hospital with smoke inhalation. 2-12-87 Smithtown News.
