Smithtown FD-House fire on Helen Avenue

January 31, 1952 Over 100 firefighters battled flames for 2 hours when the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Jensen caught fire shortly after noon. Mrs. Jensen and her two small children were home at the time of the fire and escaped without injuries. The fire is said to have been caused by a defective kerosene heater. Assistant Chief Albert E. Sanders was the OIC. Nesconset sent their tanker. This was a two story house.
