January 30 1947 The Kings Park Fire Department has presented an iron lung to the St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson. The Iron Lung was presented to the Mother Superior last Sunday, January 26th.
The funds for the purchase of the lung were derived from part of the proceeds of the Kings Park Fire Department last annual fair. The delegation that went to the hospital were Chief George Warren; President Miles Borden; 1st Assistant William Dolan; 2nd Assistant Chief Vincent Mankuski. The members of the committee which arranged the purchase and the presentation were Clifford Carlson, Joseph Flynn and Lee McDowell.
