Smithtown FD-House fire on Briaroot Drive

January 23, 1989. The Smithtown Fire Department is dispatched at 1241 hours to a report of a house on fire at 8 Briaroot Drive. Firefighter Mike McMahon, who lives down the block, was first to arrive and was advised by an adult male that his parents Theresa Crisano 88 and her husband Michael 87, were still inside the burning house. McMahon, without the protection of a hose line, entered the burning house, found and removed Michael Crisano, then re-entered and removed Theresa Crisano, who he found in a hospital bed. Both victims were transported to the hospital. There was mutual aid provided but I do not have that information.
