Smithtown FD-Firefighter rescues woman from apartment fire

January 18, 1995 0825 Captain Charles Fichtner was made aware of the fire by two civilians while across the street at a doctors office. Fichtner entered the building, forcibly entered the fire apartment and removed 64 year old Joan McNally from the building. McNally was transported to the hospital. Smithtown FD extinguished the fire which was confined to a bedroom in apartment D-6. Smithtown News 1-19-1995.
