September 28, 2019 1205 hours. The Smithtown Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a subject with a broken ankle at Blydenburgh Park. After locating the victim deep within the park, firefighters had to package and carry the victim out of the park to a waiting ambulance. This was an extended operation. While operating at this incident, a caller reported a dumpster fire on Redwood Lane. That fire was quickly extinguished without incident. Photos courtesy of the Smithtown Fire Department.
