Smithtown FD-New rescue truck delivered

January 11, 1977 The Board of Fire Commissioners presented Rescue Company 9 with their new vehicle. The body is mounted on a 1976 International chasis and is diesel powered with an automatic transmission. The truck is equipped with a high pressure pump for washdowns and small fires. There is a front mounted two-speed winch and there are four generators (two poratble and two on board. The rig is equipped with two stretchers, medical equipmentlighting and a hurst tool. The roof of the rig was reinforced to allow it to be used as an observation platform.
