Mastic FD-House fire on Floyd Road

May 23, 2021 The Mastic Fire Department was activated for a report of a residential structure at 246 Floyd Road. Units arrived and advised of a working fire in an occupied two story dwelling. Police had escorted the occupant from the house prior to the arrival of the fire department. Crews went to work and mutual aid was requested from the Mastic Beach and Brookhaven Fire Departments at the scene and from the Center Moriches Fire Department to cover. Mastic, Mastic Beach and Shirley Ambulance units were all at the scene. One police officer was transported to the hospital with smoke inhalation. There were no other reported injuries. Brookhaven Town Fire Marshals are investigating.
