Coram FD-House fire on Groton Lane

July 1, 2021 Coram Fire Department responds to 6 Groton Lane in regard to a. report of a garage fire. By the time firefighters arrived, the fire had extended to the attached home. Selden, Middle Island and Gordon Heights Fire Departments were requested to the scene. The fire was knocked down within an hour and extensive damage to the house and garage and destroyed a vehicle in the driveway. One firefighter suffered from smoke inhalation and was transported to the hospital. There were no other injuries reported. Fire Marshals from the Town of Brookhaven are investigating.
