March 5, 2017 0203 hours. Kings Park Fire Department is dispatched on a bitter cold and windy night to a brush fire in the vicinity of St. Johnland Road and Mariners Way. Units arrived to find heavy fire in a two story vacant dwelling. This fire was 2 buildings north of the doctors cottage that burned on New Years Day of 2016. The building was a total loss and was partially demolished by the Smithtown Highway Department. FD units from Kings Park, Smithtown and Commack laid approximately 3000 feet of 5 inch hose because none of the hydrants on the property work.
CVAC sent an ambulance, Nissequogue for their tanker, Commack 2-11-4, East Northport to cover, Smithtown for an engine, Nesconset for a covering engine. All units cleared from the scene by 0730 hours. There were no injuries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
