{"id":3700,"date":"2018-10-01T20:05:00","date_gmt":"2018-10-01T20:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.suburbanfiremarshal.org\/?p=3700"},"modified":"2022-03-03T20:13:15","modified_gmt":"2022-03-03T20:13:15","slug":"3700","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.suburbanfiremarshal.org\/?p=3700","title":{"rendered":"Centereach FD-Fatal motorcycle crash on Middle Country Road"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>October 1, 2018 Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a crash that killed a motorcyclist in Centereach.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At approximately 2005 hours, Steven Benjamin was operating a 2005 KTM motorcycle westbound on Middle Country Road when he collided with a 2010 Jeep Liberty that had been traveling eastbound on Middle Country Road and was making a left turn onto Eastwood Blvd.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Benjamin, 26, of Selden, was transported to Stony Brook Hospital by Centereach Fire Department ambulance where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Jeep, a 17 year old female from Selden, remained at the scene and was not injured.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The motorcycle and the Jeep were impounded for safety checks.
