The Commack Fire Department was notified of a truck fire at the corner of Beechwood Rd and Jericho Tpke. Chief\u00a0oof Department Bobby Wilkins was first in and\u00a0advised of an active fire in a garbage truck. Lines were\u00a0stretched off Engines 3 &amp; 4 and the fire was extinguished within a few minutes. Smithtown FIre Marshals were called to the scene along with the NYS DEC to deal with leaking hydraulic fluid. FD personnel applied\u00a0absorbent material in front of the storm drains in the area to limit contamination. Beechwood Rd was closed until approximately 8:45 am for clean up and removal of the burnt truck. There were no injuries.
