Ketchum Ave"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>April 27, 2021. 1930 hours. The Amityville Fire Department was activated for a report of a house fire at 299 S. Ketchum Ave. Responding Chiefs were advised by Babylon Central Fire Alarm they were taking multiple calls for a boat burning up against a house.  Amityville FD&#8217;s Chief of Department arrived on scene and advised he had two dry docked boats burning next to a house and a burn victim.  Engine 1-1-2 responded as the 1st due engine and picked up a hydrant, laying in approximately 700ft of five inch supply line. The crew from Engine 2 stretched a line up the driveway to the boat fire and begun knocking the fire down. Ambulance 1-1-11 and Medic Fly Car 1-1-81 responded behind Engine 2, tended to the burn victim and transported him to NUMC for treatment. Mutual aid was requested from Massapequa for Engine 4 and Ladder 6 to respond and Copiague for 1 engine and a rapid intervention team. The crew from Massapequa\u2019s Engine 4 arrived on scene and stretched a 2nd line off of Engine 2 while the crew from Ladder 6 checked the house for extension and performed a search, as well as help stabilize the boats with rescue jacks. Copiague\u2019s crews assisted in overhaul of the boats in conjunction with Engine 3\u2019s crew and Rescue 1-1-15\u2019s crew from Amityville.
